When you take the Orbitkey Nest v2 out of the box, you immediately notice its quality. The top has a leather-like finish that feels smooth to the touch, while the base is covered in a soft fabric similar to what you find on many modern tech accessories, such as a Google or Echo speaker. It certainly has a premium feel, but does it do what it promises—keeping your workspace organised while charging your devices?

The top section acts as a handy tray for items you use often, like your keys or your phone, so you don’t have to rummage around to find them. It also has a built-in Qi wireless charging pad that supports fast charging (15w for most phones, but only 7.5w for the iPhone), which is a big plus if you have a compatible phone or gadget and want to cut down on clutter from extra chargers.

Inside, the organiser has an almost micro-fibre-feeling material on the base and tiny plastic pieces that use the Velcro hook and loop system to attach to this fabric. For added convenience, you can either lift the lid off entirely or flip it open like a book if you attach the top and the base together using a hook and catch on the side.
The Next comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable, which is a pain if your charging brick only has USB-C ports. Of course, you can swap this out for any USB-C cable you already have. Why companies still use USB-A seems strange to me. Is it a cost issue?
When closed, use the top of the lid for things you reach for regularly, like your keys or phone. You can use the compartments inside the lid for other things, but these are rather tight pockets. You won’t be able to fit much in this section other than maybe SD cards and essential bits of paper. There is a little netted section that might hold something like a cable.
